J.K. ROWLING GLORIOUSLY SHUTS DOWN SEXISTS VIA TWITTER
Following the (positively) surprising outcome of last week’s UK-elections, Theresa May, Prime Minister and head of the country’s conservative party, faced loads of public reactions towards her defeat. Amongst lots of spitefulness and gloating, there were also a whole lot of (unfortunately unsurprising) sexist comments by May’s male rivals. It was then that J.K. Rowling, politically outspoken author of the Harry Potter series, decided she was not going to keep quiet. Via Twitter, the 51-year old expressed her frustration with “‘liberal’ men whose mask slips every time a woman displeases them.”
I’m sick of ‘liberal’ men whose mask slips every time a woman displeases them, who reach immediately for crude and humiliating words 3/14

Even though Rowling is far from being a Tory-supporter, she refuses to put up with sexism of any kind, and obviously has no problem expressing this and standing up for herself and her fellow females, something we greatly admire this woman for.
Take a look at Rowling’s already iconic posts in all of their 14-piece-glory, below:
Just unfollowed a man whom I thought was smart and funny, because he called Theresa May a whore. 1/14
