WEARING DENIM IN STYLE WITH WEEKDAY‘S NEWEST SUSTAINABLE AW18 COLLECTION

Denim is never out of season. Since it was introduced 150 years ago, it has gone through a lot of styles and changes. First intended as a resistent and practical material for workers, it soon became a staple in everyone‘s wardrobe. Launching today, Weekday is bringing denim back to its roots with its new AW18 collection. The new limited line is inspired by American workwear and also a celebration of the brand‘s core concept of producing garments made out of denim. But this referencing of the past does not influence Weekday’s progressiveness in terms of production. The entire AW18 collection is made of sustainable materials, proving that the love for denim also comes with a love for nature, the title fittingly being “Natural Born Human“.

Nebraska, Idaho or Alabama – the garments’ names fittingly are another hint to the collection’s focus on American heritage. The workwear aspect is reflected in practical and sturdy denim jackets, workcoats, straight jeans and vests.  A modern twist is added with asymmetrical mini skirts and crop tops for women and zip-up jackets for men. The colour palette ranges from classical denim blue in all its shades to natural white and rusty red. Besides the denim pieces, several longsleeves and T-shirts are part of the collection. Printed with botanical designs taken from photographs by the first female photographer Anna Atkins from the 1800s, the garments take the nature theme even further.  The accessories come with logo-printed belts, fisher hats, micro sunglasses and colourful socks, adding a 2018-touch to the overall retro vibe.

The limited WEEKDAY AW18 collection is available in WEEKDAY stores and online at weekday.com.
