Period Editorial Black And White

PHOTOS TO CHANGE YOUR PERCEPTION OF THE PERIOD

Before the 19th Century, doctors didn’t realise periods were linked to ovulation, and believed women only needed to bleed once a month to calm their hysterical natures. Although science has come a long way since then, the old taboos still seem to exist somewhat within modern society.

But luckily more and more feminist activists are increasingly encouraging women to talk openly about female issues, bodily functions and mental health. Kaoli’s editorial depicts that time of the month that can be a total strain; and the female solidarity that comes with it.
