PAT MCGRATH’S COSMETICS RANGE IS YOUR NEXT COMPULSORY BEAUTY BUY.
There is no need to introduce her. Pat McGrath creates the looks for about 80 fashion shows a year, imagines bold beauty ideals for campaigns like Versace or Dolce & Gabbana and collaborated with Steven Meisel for the 2015 Pirelli calendar, without ever repeating herself – McGrath might just be the most prolific makeup artist of our time. After launching her eponymous makeup line Pat McGrath Labs and creating limited editions that sold like hot cakes, she is introducing her first permanent cosmetics range and it is your first compulsory beauty buy for autumn.
We knew that there was something on the way: it’s been two years of anticipation but it was worth it. The British makeup artist introduces today a large beauty collection of 61 pieces including mascaras, lipsticks, eye shadow palettes, eyeliners, and lip pencils. In the eye category, three eye palettes named the “Mothership” palettes with 10 plush powder eye shadows in matte and metallics will retail for $125 each, PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye pencil for $25, and Dark Star mascara for $28. For your lips, McGrath unveils a selection of 31 LuxeTrance lipsticks that will join her nine existing MatteTrance.
And the packaging is as exciting as her collection. As an incubator for the younger generation, the artist turned to Instagram to find new talents and asked young creative people from all around the world to illustrate the packaging.
The Pat McGrath Labs Unlimited Edition is available on September 16 on patmcgrath.com. In addition, the cosmetics range will be available on October 4 in a selection of 25 Sephora stores and on sephora.com.
