FELL IN LOVE WITH A THING, WEEK 11/2014: KARL LAGERFELD EDITION
This week we got the incredible chance to be part of the new Karl Lagerfeld fragrance launch in Paris. After some amazing sunny and warm spring days in the city of love, a tour through King Karl’s work and studio spaces and an exciting launch party we are back with this special edition of our new weekly series!
Started our tour through the neighborhood around Boulevard St. Germain where all of Karl Lagerfeld’s work spaces are located.
First important snack at infamous Cafe de Flore – a croque monsieur for 15 Euro.
Our favourites at the Karl Lagerfeld store on 194 Boulevard St. Germain. Long live the flatform!
Look what we spotted in Karl Lagerfeld’s office book shelf: A small collection of material girl!!!
Did you know he draws his sketches using make-up colours by Shu Uemura?
His office is filled with his collaboration projects – like this set for Sephora.
Or the glasses he designed for Orrefors, displayed at his showroom:
A few of the around 30.000 books he keeps in his photo studio space…
More of his drawing pens and pencils.
A few of the amazing books available at his art/design/architecture/photography book store “7L” on 7 rue de Lille.
A light evening meal: filet de boeuf at the famous Brasserie Lipp…
And the Tarte Tatin might not look that pretty but it tasted heavenly!
We were accommodated at lovely hotel Bel Ami, with pretty little design objects on display all over the place.
Saying our goodbyes: Window shopping around Rue de Rivoli…
And a last treat: Quiche Lorraine at Les Deux Magots.
Most treasured souvenirs we got to take home: The yummy new it-fragrances for men and women (in stores beginning of April).
A dream made of salt and sugar:
And the polaroid we got to take of Karl, despite all the madness once he entered the launch party:
Plus a few additional impressions: Karl Lagerfeld’s work desk at his office space.
Inside his showroom.
His photo studio!
And a few ones of beautiful Paris…
