COMING FROM NEW DELHI, TAKING OVER THE WORLD: LOVEBIRDS’ GURSI SINGH & AMRITA KHANNA

Starting as a cute vintage brand with pastel palettes and pearly whites with structured silhouettes, Lovebirds started in the commercial bridal fashion capital of India, New Delhi. However surprising it may sound, their debut collection was received as cool and upcoming by every single publication in attendance alongside fellow stylists and designers.

At a time when dressing like a Christmas tree went out of vogue, Lovebirds designed by (now a married couple) Gursi Singh and Amrita Khanna, started doing cool and subtle vs boxy and attention worthy. With their Fall/Winter 2016 collection selling out in Paris and Milan, LoveBirds has an essence that stays. It’s feminine without being a doll and oversized without looking like menswear. More towards the side of experimental cuts and silhouette now, the India based brand knows how to be mature and youthful at the same time. It’s something that you could wear to work and carry onto brunch and further onto to evenings. Their palettes give one the choice of going monochrome and pastels with polka dot motifs as well. The designers are soon going to go global and with their approach to the girl in big boots, it looks about just what one needs on the go.
