American cult-shoe maker TOMS are set to launch a collaboration with the Swedish womenswear label & Other Stories. Needless to say this is a match made in heaven. But not only that, it was inspired by one of the closest places to heaven the earth has to offer: Venice Beach, California. This detail in partciular is special and worth mentioning for two reasons. For one thing, it played an inevitable role in shaping the very distinctive, California-esque aesthetic that shimmers through in each and every one of the collection’s pieces. But it is also somewhat of an obvious inspiration, given that TOMS and Erin Wasson, model and key-contributor to the collction’s creation, are both Venice Beach-born and raised, so to speak.

Let alone the fact that this collaboration is set to carry a wide selection of summer must-haves, its revenues also benefit a charitable cause: TOMS has always been known for its “One for One”-concept, through which every purchased pair of shoes goes into donating a pair to a child in need. In addition to this already remarkable feature, & Other Stories, too, has committed itself to charity-work by financially supporting education of women in India. All in all, this adds up to not only one, but two more than good causes funded through, basically, shopping!

“The collection has a very down-to-earth, very natural feel to it”, Natalie Joos, who shot the “TOMS & Other Stories” campaign, describes.
“In this day and age, with all the drama that surrounds us, it’s important to focus on loving and supporting each other. I have no doubt that friendly, caring people will enjoy this collcetion as much as we do.”
The collab will feature a range of ready-to-wear pieces and shoes. Both of which will show classic TOMS elements enhanced with signature & Other Stories colors, prints and materials. The pieces are set to hit shelves of both TOMS and & Other Stories online and in stores on the 11th of April.
