TRAVELLING TO CHINA BACKSTAGE AT YANG LI SS18

Indulging on a journey that has brought him from his hometown Beijing to Central Saint Martins in London and now to Paris, Yang Li for SS18 decided it’s time to combine all these places into one coherent collection – under the idea of what couture would look like in China. Showing his new collection in Paris just last week as part of the city’s Fashion Week, Li infused a basis of black with fire red prints and chunky boots, connecting his delicate roots with London’s punk heritage, and, ultimately, Paris’ reputation for staying stylish no matter the age or circumstances. Casting models from all age groups, Li’s vision was not only brought to life on the catwalk but equally backstage – so we decided to head behind the symbolic curtain at Yang Li SS18 and capture his heroines in the flesh.
