A BACKSTAGE VIEW OF ANN DEMEULEMEESTER’S VIBRANT ROMANTICISM
There are not many fashion houses able to link the dark and the light quite as Ann Demeulemeester does. After the Belgium-born designer herself left her eponymous label in 2013, fashion designer Sebastien Meunier took over the reigns of the house once a driving force in setting the deconstructive tone for fashion in the 80s. Always combining her signature approach with a lighter, more romantic layer, Demeulemeester herself not only was part of the Antwerp six but has build an impressive legacy with both her brand and her name – that for her newest collection is being carried into an equally mesmerizing depiction of a modern flower-child. With the Ann Demeulemeester SS18 collection just shown during Paris Fashion Week, we went backstage to get a glimpse of the brand’s feather-equipped offering.
