MOMENTS OF EXPLORATION: AN EDITORIAL BY ANNA LINETSKAYA

For this editorial, Adele and photographer Anna Linetskaya spent an afternoon in a town just outside of San Francisco called Pacifica. Set against the classic Northern California coastline and complete with dirty feet, wet clothes, and veiled treasures, the experience was a throwback to the magical adolescent moments of exploration.

While most envision California beaches to be bathed in a warm, cheerful glow, Northern California instead offers starkly different
cool and desolate landscapes that stretch for miles. The air is
moist and the fog is rolling.

“This setting holds a particular significance for me, as this is
where I got a first glimpse of the ocean after moving here in my
teens from my hometown in Russia,” explains Anna when asked about the meaning this story holds to her, “I hope that sense of wonder and
discovery comes across in the images.”
